"Smart Classroom" set up!
Sustainable Villages Foundation, together with the "Ecole Primaire de Juru" and with financial support from the Schmitz Foundations' Small Projects Fund, has set up a Smart Classroom with 31 Windows laptops.
After successful solar electrification of the primary school, the laptops, a projector and a combined device for printing and copying have now been installed. Internet connection is being provided via a 4G router on a transitional basis. Over the next 18 months, the school will be connected to the fibre optic network through a government programme.
The school has renovated the classroom, improved security against theft and built furniture.
Computer training for the 18 teachers started on 21 October.
