Francine Munyaneza
Founder and CEO of MUNYAX ECO – Company specialized in solar energy - as well as “La Maison Verte” a green / ecological green building project.
Francine has a background in Business Administration and Finance which brought her to a 20 year career in Humanitarian work across 5 continents. In 2013, Francine decided to come back to the Great Lakes region in an attempt to impact it in two ways: use renewable energy to help people gain access to electricity, and empower women to take up space in the Energy sector. Munyax Eco was one of the first few companies to bring a variety of solar-powered products to Rwanda (Solar Home Systems, Solar Cold Chain, Solar Water Heaters, PV panels etc.) and helped their adoption by raising awareness on the many advantages of turning to solar. As a result of her initiatives and with an enthusiastic team that is composed of 50% women, Munyax Eco has hit some milestones in the last 9 years: 10,000 people have had access to energy across 3 countries, 939 tons of C02 have been saved each year with Solar Water Heaters alone, an instalment payment plan option which enabled thousands of installations, an ongoing project with Rwanda Energy Group (REG) enabling people in rural areas to have access to Solar Home Systems and many more.
